BLOG 14 BOTTLE WATER MYTH VERSUS REALITY.

According to the myth “But tap water is still susceptible to germs, as well as pernicious chemical agents” It explain how even though people believe that Tap water is the same thing as the battle of water. There is still a concern of the germs the water comes with. Also what most people concern is if by using our on filters would remove the fluoride that all this water has after they have been “clean”.  It could be true that using your own filter might be cheaper if we are concern about our pockets. However if we have to think about it, I have come across of making an experiment myself one for my science class. As a result to this experiment I found out that bottle of waters and tap waters come from the same place. The only difference is that bottle of waters have a lot more chemicals to it that on the long run could be a health issue for us. On the other hand tap water doesn’t have as many chemicals as bottle of water does. If we are smart about it by having our own water filters at home will would be much convenience for all of us not only for our pockets, but also because we would not put as much chemical to our bodies then we do by drinking the bottle of waters. Also we cannot just go by what all this company says about the water they are producing and that they are trying to sell to us. We should all do our own research and then make a decision. Not just let them make the decision for us.

BLOG # 11 Summarizing The Meatrix

1.   1.    The first video the Meatrix is a copy of the movie the matrix where Morpheus shows up to give an opportunity to Leo to take the red pill or the blue pill, so he could find out what is the real world. He shows him a factory farm which is the place where most eggs, milks and meat come from. Also it explains how in the mid-20^th century, greedy agriculture destroyed all the family farms and made them factories to maximize their profits, putting in dangerous the humans and animals by giving all this animals antibiotics, and keeping them all in one place that they could not move, or see the sun light. Also giving those hormones to make them grow as much faster than unusual. Leo has been chosen as the one since he is the only one that could put a stop to this.

2.    2.   Part 2 Leo somehow have made a change in the world and people are learning to eat healthy, and now they know how to choose better the food that they are eating. Leo meet the responsible for such harsh things which are the agents of the Meatrix, which their purpose is to pumping the animals with the artificial growth.  The agents take Morpheus with them.

3.     3.  Leo save Morpheus from the agents, and they talk about the dangerous of working conditions, and how they manure in the meat.

BLOG 10 TUTORS VISIT.

Working with the tutor today in class was a great help. She explains me better on how to focus on my main points and how to try to summery my essay in a better way. Also she actually gave me a great technic that I was told by my professor not too long ago. Thank you for you help.

What would be your choice of taking the Red pill or the Blue pill? Me personally I would make the same choice as Neo did. I would take the Red Pill and would like to stay in the wonderland, and like that Experience a real world and get out from the fantasy I have been living my entire life. As it was show in the movie “The Matrix” Neo was on a fantasy dream what he called the real world. However his world was manipulated and controlled and he always felt like there where something wrong in the world he was in. This is why as soon he had the chance to see the truth he decided that path, since it was something he was always wondering. On the other hand “The Allegory Of The Cave,” the famous story given by Socrates of the journey from the world of opinion and appearances to the reality, also is another example of the manipulated world he live in and gave that up to know beyond of what he knew already. The world I live in is full of manipulations even though we don’t see it, we are manipulated by the government. Also religion is another way that we are being manipulated in this world was some of us think how the bible wants us to think and to believe. This is why I come to the conclusion of taking the red pill, because I don’t want to be trap in a circle of ignorance and manipulation. Second even though the truth might be painful many people could handle it on the other hand many people cannot depend how it was told. Thirdly after knowing that there is a true of the world I live in, I would not like to go back to be the ignorant person.
  First of all I don’t want to be trap in a circle of ignorance and manipulations. What I mean by that is we all live in a world where we are told what to do, in what to believe, and we are so ignorant that everything we hear and see in the news or what have been said by the churches and the important people meaning the government we think is true. We all live in a world of regulations and rules that we have to go by. We have to work hard for what we want and also work hard in order to survive and to have a better life not entire wealthy but to live not as poor. In the article “The allegory of the cave” the young guys were manipulated and shown a world that they thought it was real. However they didn’t know what the Sun was and how it looked like, they didn’t know nothing better than just staring at a wall and looking at the shadows that were projected. I don’t want to be that ignorant in my life I want to know beyond of what I have been told and shown. When I was little I was force to go to church and listen to the priest and to believe that Jesus was real and that he died for us and all the rest of nonsense that they say. Now that I’m older and have done my own research I have come to think the opposite of what I was told. I had come with the conclusion that everything that is said in church is just made up and not proven. Since there has not been a person that came from the death to tell us that he was alive while Jesus was and that he is a witness of everything that is said about Jesus or God. Because of this reason I would take the Red pill to know more of what I have been told, I prefer to know the truth about God then to believe something that is not proven. Also I mention the Government since is another way we have been controlled especially in this country, where they say we are a country of freedom but if you stop to think about it we are not. I have seen so many documentaries that had open my mind in many ways, and make me realize in the world I’m living like I said before controlled and manipulated by others. Neo in the movie “the matrix” found out of how manipulated his world was and how they were all controlled by technology. Which know all this open this eyes and staring viewing the world totally different then he was before. That’s what I would like to feel by taking the Red pill just like “Neo”, I would like to get out of the circle of ignorance and manipulation feel wiser and that whenever someone come up to me to tell me their stories that they think is true I would not be a fool and believe everything is true.
   Secondly Many people could handle the truth on the other hand many people could not handle the truth. Taking the red pill could be very risky because it could be a truth that we were expecting or something that we are not expecting and our reaction towards it may not be the same as everybody. Me in particular I would like to know the truth no matter how bad it is. I prefer to know the truth and know what to expect in the future and by knowing this my plans for the future could be different than what I have in mind now. In my personal life I experience how sometimes depending of what truth we are hiding could be harsh for some of us. My grandmother from my father side was diagnose with cancer and she had very little to live. All my family didn’t wanted to tell the truth to my grandfather since he was very sick and had heart problems. However the entire four months that she was alive, while we knew about her sickness he always question my aunts about my grandmother health but they always invented a story or they would go around it so they would not have to tell him the truth of what was going on with his wife. One month before she died he found out that his wife had cancer and had very little to live. Not only was this news hard to digest for him but his heart problems got even worst that he could not handle it since it was such a surprise for him after so many days and night seen her sick and not knowing why. He had a heart attack a couple of days later after he found out. And a month later my grandmother died. After what I pass thru with them is why I would choose million times the red pill from the beginning of what is going on than in the last moment. I admit that a truth like this would affect any body harmless in such way. But is better to know what to expect for the future so like that you could educate yourself better and prepare yourself for the worst or the better. Going back to “the matrix” and me being in it taking the red pill will take me out of living in a fantasy world with no freedom.
    Thirdly knowing that there is a true of the world I live in, I would not like to go back to be the ignorant person and act like nothing had happen and go back to believe everything that it was said to me before. Is very hard for me to move backwards in live, and that would be one of the things I would not do. I see videos with evidence and research documentaries that had opened my mind in such way, that now I see everything different in the world. I cannot see myself as close minded as I was before. Seeing the rest of the people out there that no matter what you tell them they are so close minded and have come to the point of believing everything the Government has tells them or of what they see in the news. I don’t think that is possible for someone to act like they have not seen anything or heard anything that sounded really true to them before. Because in the end you would explode of knowing how stressful your life is and how stupid you are acting. We are humans and we could only take several things but not live like ignorant after knowing a truth.
   To conclude no matter how bad the truth is I will make the same decision that Neo made by taking the red pill. Taking the red pill will open my mind and will make me a wiser person in live. It will help me make better decision for my future. It will also take me out of the fantasy, manipulated, world we live in.

BLOG 7 "THE DANGERS OF REALITY TV"

This article “The Dangers of Reality TV” by Thomas Sexton explains on how reality TV is a dangerous for us the young fans. How it could affect in our education since now we are young and most of us like to get easy money and not worked hard for it. The idea of not going to school which for some of them is a great idea. The article thinks that by showing reality shows like Fear factor since we could get a lot of money by just competing will change our mind of going to school. Since we do not have to educate our self to participate on this particular show or any other reality TV shows. However I cannot agree with this article because I think that not all people in this world thinks the same that it would come to an instant of affecting our education. All this TV shows are just entertainment that something is better to watch then soap operas. Also some of this shows could help us pursue or give our first step to a career specially who want to be a singer, or actress, even modeling.

     First of all Reality TV shows is not a harmful for us young fans. We all live in a very big world were we all have different ways of thinking and because of this they could not affect our education. By watching “fear factor” would not change our way of thinking to go to college and having a career. Yes this reality TV is a show, where by just doing some several challenges people could win up to fifty thousand dollars, somehow easy but not entirely since is a competition. I personally watch this show and because sometimes I get the feeling of wanting to be there, it does not change my thinking towards college, or to pursue a career for my future. Fifty thousand dollars is a lot of money for one person specially someone young, but this could only last probably five to ten years depending how you waist you money. On the other hand a career could last your entire life time. Even though we are so different to one another, a career is an important subject for many. To some people it could affect the fact of watching reality TV shows especially how you could get easy money but that affect would only be for a moment. In reality any reality TV show like for example “fear factor” never shows something or interpreted anything that could change our minds for education.
    Second reality TV shows are just entertainment, real things, and real life.  I see reality TV shows as a way to entertain myself and to see also and make fun of how some people make a fool of them self, other than watching soup operas that is just all lie, it has the same concept were the main character fall in loves with each other, they fight by the middle of the show, but at the end is a fairytale were they get marry at the end and live happy ever after. In the other hand reality TV shows entertains you, it’s also sometimes the real life of some people, and you could see them in action on a daily biases, when they make mistakes, or fights with each other, real deal then in some shows we cannot see, Since they   always cut that part so everything could be as perfect as they can.   
     Thirdly some reality TV shows could help us get a career for those who want to pursue their careers in acting or singing, or any other retaliated to TV. The passage instead that one of the shows call “American Idol” only shows a message of who far is more competent at what they do but lacks personality which the author says that they message is more likely to be that the image is more important than the substance. American Idol or any other show in Spanish or any language like for example “Protagonistas de Novelas” which is a show of also competition to be the winner an become an actress, this shows does not teach us that image is more important. This show actually helps those people competing, but other who are watching and their dreams are alike to become true to become an actress. They could be competing however at the same time they are learning how to become a better singer or actress, theirs mistakes, and us who are watching from home that might have the same dream, we could learn from their mistakes and learn little bet things from this professional people that are teaching them. It also sometimes helps people who financially reasons cannot afford an art school, but they have the chance to compete and if they win, or not they will still be recognize out there.
    To conclude reality TV shows are not as dangerous as the article is trying to pursue as to think that way. In overall reality TV is just an entertainment source that could help us take our minds away of so much stress we all have. It could help us see other things than just soap operas. For some who as the dream of becoming famous, or an actress, singer, model, is a first step to their career in the future. Reality TV show is not harmful or either dangerous to us young fans.
